Katie, the only real answer is that commercial pet food manufacturers, no matter how much they say they care about our pets really care about only one thing, their bottom line! The biggest return for the lowest outlay. It's sad and sorry but for the 'big guys' the bottom line is the bottom line!

I have a question. I have been learning from Dog 101 about canine commercial foods contents and find it appalling. Why is it that, if it is really true that corn and soy are allergens for dogs, which is it that the commercial foods are jam packed with those additives? How can the manufacturers do that to our doggies?

This distresses me greatly and now, as a home meal maker for my doggies, I do not ever want to have to resort to commercial foods.

Thank you for all of your information. I am sure it will make a difference both in longevity and quality of the dogs' lives. And mine also, less vet bills, etc. Keep up the great work. You can be sure that this is one household that is taking all of this to heart and making a change. Including telling my dog loving friends about all this. Thank you. Katie.
